Insomnia is defined by difficulties in initiating or maintaining sleep, or early-morning awakening with an inability to return to sleep and it is associated iwth experiencing nonrestorative sleep. Insomnia places a significant toll on individuals (impairs the individual's functioning, has a negative impact on the individual's quality of life, and increases risks of accidents) and on society (increases health care costs and decreases job performance).
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a daily single oral dose of weight appropriate tasimelteon and matching placebo in male and female pediatric participants with insomnia disorder.
