This study is for participants who have a previous history of OSA and have experienced heart failure with or without atrial fibrillation. This trial is designed to offer an alternative to the standard of care for OSA, the CPAP or oral and nasal devices.
The National Commission on Sleep Disorders Research identified sleep disorders as a major public health burden. OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) is the most common and serious of these sleep disorders and affects approximately 20 million people. OSA is characterized by repetitive collapse or "obstruction" of the pharyngeal airway during sleep, manifesting as repetitive episodes of shallow breathing.
